Mohammedan Sporting Club Celebrates Spectacular Victory against Bhowanipore FC

Shirsho Times Desk: Mohammedan Sporting Club showcased their resilience and determination, earning a well-deserved 2-1 victory against Bhowanipore FC in the third clash of Super Six round of Calcutta Football League 2023 held at the Mohammedan Sporting Club Ground.

Despite the adverse ground conditions, the match kicked off with an intensity that matched the elements.

 Mohammedan Sporting Club, fresh off a recent victory against Emami East Bengal FC, made three significant changes in their starting lineup, as Ganesh, Abhijit and Karan got a start in the first XI, signalling their intent to maintain their winning form. 

The reshuffled squad faced a formidable Bhowanipore FC that was equally eager to make an impact.

In a pivotal moment during the 17th minute, jersey number 19, David Lalhansanga seized an opportunity amidst the chaotic conditions to give Mohammedan Sporting Club the lead. With a skillful display of teamwork, jersey number 26, Samuel gave a well-timed cross to David, who struck the ball into the net. 

However, Bhowanipore FC answered back in the 31st minute undeterred by the deficit, with Jiten finding the back of the net. In a relentless push during the second half, David Lalhansanga scored his second goal for the match in the 63rd minute to give Mohammedan Sporting Club lead once again. This remarkable goal marked David Lalhlansanga's 19th goal in the tournament, solidifying his status as the top goal-scorer of the league.

Mohammedan Sporting Club defended resolutely to preserve their lead until the final whistle, securing this crucial victory that sent the fans into celebrations.

Despite the challenging playing conditions, Mohammedan Sporting Club held their ground and secured the victory with 2-1 scoreline that could prove instrumental in their quest to become CFL 2023 champions.

 The win marks the club's third consecutive triumph in the Super Six round as Mohammedan Sporting Club move ahead with 38 points showcasing their consistency and championship ambitions.
